APPLICATION FOR THE AWARD OF NON-LOCAL STUDENT STATUS - SCHOLARSHIPS A.Y. 2026/27

You may qualify for “non-local” status for the purposes of the scholarship call for the 2026/2027 academic year if you meet the following requirements (see Article 5 of the <a href="https://www.univr.it/it/concorsi/studenti-e-laureati/borse-per-il-diritto-allo-studio" target="_blank">Call for Applications</a>): <ul> <li>your permanent residence is located more than 80 km, or more than 80 minutes by public transport, from the location of the degree programme in which you are enrolled; and you live in public student accommodation or in other accommodation provided by private individuals or organisations, either in the municipality where the University campus is located or in a municipality classified as “local” in relation to the location of your degree programme. Please consult the tables available at the following <a href="https://www.univr.it/it/concorsi/studenti-e-laureati/borse-per-il-diritto-allo-studio" target="_blank">link</a> to check how your municipality of permanent residence is classified in relation to the location of your degree programme.</li> <li>you take up accommodation for which you pay rent, for a period of at least 10 months between 1 October 2026 and 30 September 2027. If you are enrolled in the final semester, the required period is at least 5 months between 1 October 2026 and 31 March 2027; </li> <li>the rental agreement must be in your name or jointly in your name, signed by both parties and duly registered with the Italian Revenue Agency, including any extensions or changes of tenant. </li> </ul> If you participate in an international mobility programme, such as Erasmus, a work placement or an internship abroad, you may qualify for non-local student status provided that you have paid accommodation abroad. If you stay in more than one residence, you may combine the relevant periods of stay to meet the minimum requirement of 10 months. In this case, the agreement relating to the subsequent accommodation must be submitted by 15 March 2027. Non-local student status will be granted only after you have submitted documentation proving that you have paid for accommodation for a total period of at least 10 months. If you undertake a curricular internship in Italy at a location far from your degree programme location, you may qualify for non-local student status, provided that the accommodation period relating to the internship, combined where applicable with the accommodation period at the university location, meets the minimum duration required by the scholarship call. PLEASE NOTE: In both cases described above, you will retain the scholarship category originally awarded to you, namely the non-local student scholarship, commuter student scholarship or local student scholarship. Your status cannot be changed as a result of a change in the location of your degree programme or the curricular internship.   If you stay in an ESU Verona residence, you are not required to submit a tenancy agreement, as the University obtains the relevant information directly from ESU. Please check that your accommodation agreement covers a period of at least 10 months between 1 October 2026 and 30 September 2027, or at least 5 months between 1 October 2026 and 31 March 2027 if you are enrolled in the final semester. It is your responsibility to check the status assigned to you in the provisional ranking list and to submit any report or request for review using the relevant form, in accordance with Article 12, paragraph 3, of the scholarship call.
